The renowned Meandarra Campdraft three-day event last month ignited Southern Darling Downs backing for the Australian “first” travelling cardiology clinic known as The Heart Truck.

On Friday, December 2nd the Heart of Australia semi-trailer clinic rig went off-road to be the centrepiece for the inaugural Meandarra-district Heart Health Day Charity Auction, aimed at building on a $10,000 donation to the program from the Condamine Campdraft.

The day was held in memory of Graham Bridle who was suddenly taken while holidaying overseas with an undiagnosed heart condition. The family wish to raise awareness of men’s heart health and the importance of prevention via early detection and accessibility for country Queenslanders.

Auction organisers said they were overwhelmed by anonymous donations from district locals for bid lots on the day, as well as great support from corporate sponsors.

It was a warm and festive lunchtime affair – organisers welcomed nearly 300 guests for lunch creekside at the “Uralla” property of Scott & Ann-Maree Attwooll.

The team at Heart of Australia are extremely grateful for the generosity and support from the Meandarra community.
