Charters Towers – Dr Karam Kostner reports that he was thrilled to have “so many doctors” from the Gold City Medical Centre attend his special session about new and interesting cardiology cases.

Charleville – Heart of Australia resident specialist Dr Robert Perel met GPs from the RFDS Charleville, SWHHS Charleville Health Clinic and CWAATSICH at the local RSL to discuss “Diagnosis and Management of Coronary Artery Disease”. Thanks to all who took part. 

And still in Charleville – Heart of Australia endocrinologist Dr Merryn Thomae provided Doctors at the Charleville Hospital with an education session on the topic of “Hypomagnesemia”, covering causes, investigation and treatment for the condition.

Dr Thomae joined the Heart of Australia team in late 2016 and her areas of special interest include complex chronic illness presentations; diagnostic dilemmas; General and Acute Care Medicine presentations; diabetes mellitus; polycystic ovarian syndrome; osteoporosis; thyroid disease and General Endocrinology.
