He started with the session title: ABCD – ECG. Damian boiled down his three key messages for the session in the title because they were the critical messages to GPs attending, from the Emerald Medical Group and Emerald Hospital staff –supported by the Central Highlands PHN.

And Damian’s core messages for the presentation?

1. Develop a systematic approach to reading and interpreting a 12-lead ECG.
2. Identify abnormal ECG results, which may reflect underlying pathology.
3. Identify two groups of patients – those who would benefit from a referral to a Cardiologist and those whose treatment can be safely managed in primary care.
